Delhi High Court maintains charges against Ansal siblings in Uphaar catastrophe case

 

The Delhi High Court today maintained a trial court’s request encircling charges of altering of proof against land noblemen Sushil and Gopal Ansal in the Uphaar fire case.

“The material offered ascend to solid doubt that blamed submitted the offense for which charges were appropriately encircled,” the seat said.

On June 13, 1997, a fire had broken out at the theater amid the screening of Bollywood film ‘Outskirt’, slaughtering 59 individuals and harming more than 100.

The Supreme Court had on February 9, 2017 sent one of the land noblemen Ansal siblings, Gopal, to a year in prison.

Somewhat investigating its request for the disaster, the zenith court’s three-judge seat declined to give any detainment to another charged, Sushil Ansal, considering his age.
